About Kerkyra (as it is called in Greek)
Corfu is one of Greece’s most popular islands, and it is ideal for couples and families looking for a modern and safe holiday spot. It is part of the Ionian Islands complex, and it is surrounded by many smaller
islands, Paxos and Antipaxos, Othonoi, Mathraki, Erikousa. The cosmopolitan town has 39,330 people (the island’s total population is around 102,000).
The island is lush with greenery and beaches, and Corfu Town may be crowded, especially during the summer months. Although not everything is ideal, it contributes to Corfu's attraction as a diverse, cosmopolitan, engaging, and unique island.
Corfu Town’s sophisticated and graceful atmosphere has a strong Venetian, French, Greek and British influence, which becomes apparent as you stroll down the labyrinth of the narrow streets paved with cobblestones.
There are numerous activities available, such as swimming, windsurfing, horseback riding, sightseeing, and many exciting places to visit, including beaches, museums, monuments, and churches. Everyone will find something to their liking.
Take a stroll through the town's historic centre, exploring and discovering hidden gems only the locals know about.
Sip a "café frappe" in one of the local coffee shops or "zaharoplasteia" (patisseries) and enjoy some of the delicious desserts, puddings, and sweets. From the Old and New Forts, take in the beautiful views of the historical town and the old port. At Liston, have a cup of coffee or anything else you fancy and watch the people go by.

A few cosy words about Gouvia
The small village of Gouvia is located on the island’s east coast that has been transformed into a modern holiday destination over the last four decades.
It was once a fishing village, but it became a Venetian naval base in the 17th century, and even nowadays you can still see the grand arches and the ruins.
It is located on a bay 7km north of Corfu Town on the east coast.
The marina, which is the island’s largest yachting port and accommodates motorboats and luxury yachts, is its main attraction. Coffee shops, restaurants and bars all provide a pleasant and laid-back vibe.
Gouvia village features a variety of fantastic places to dine and drink, including tavernas, cocktail bars, and beach bars, many of which are open late. There are a few beaches, mostly with pebbles, that are perfect for leisurely beach days.
